Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr uses two separate forms of progression, the first of which is the player's Account Level. 

This is the more traditional progression method where you level up by earning Experience Points, which is done by completing single missions and priority assignments. Advancing in Account Level grants skill points which you can use to purchase passive skills in the skill trees.

There is a twist, though. 

Your Account Level – as the name implies – doesn’t just apply to a single character, it applies to ALL of your characters. This is to say that when you level up while playing one character, ALL the others gain skill points too.
